Great little low key resort. They're still recovering just a bit from Irma, but out stay was great.
This wasn't the only updates the until needed. The water pressure was just a little trickle, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work, the dryer didn't work, there were tiny ants in most rooms, the gasket on the fridge and freezer were split, there was no drain cup on the grill so the grease dripped all over the floor and the back door rollers need replacing. A cleat had been screwed to the outside of the backdoor which aided in opening it but if you used this to close it you shut your finger between the door and the frame, as three of us did in our week.
I know it's not a 5 star resort, but I'm not expecting 5 star luxury. After paying $1500 for one week you expect the basics to be in working order.
The resort was great but our unit (600) was in desperate need of updating. I called as the ac units wouldn't cool the temperature below 85 in the afternoon. There were 4 stand alone units. 2 in 2 bedrooms, one in the lounge and one in the dining area. One was right next to the bed in one of the bedrooms and blew straight at your head all night long. I was told it is a mobile home and they could give us extra fans. They sent a guy to check and he said they are working fine, they just can't keep up! He did fix the broken bike though.
I emailed Water Front Realty Sunday about these problems after we left and two days on I haven't received a reply. I didn't bother contacting them whilst we were there. They did nothing to fix the AC problem so i had no confidence in them fixing any of these. Most were not quick fixes.
This is a beautiful park. Unfortunately it sustained a lot of damage from Hurricane Irma. The will of the residents is inspiring though. They've already begun to rebuild. The staff is very helpful and courteous. They live here too.
My parents own two properties here , we stay all the time ! Good comunity friendly people and staff ! About 20 minutes from the main island ! Plenty to do on vacation!
I love Venture Out Resort. I have been staying there for the last 12 years every summer. Please rebuild this beautiful place. Reply here for potential donations towards the rebuild of the park
